MUMBAI:
FremantleMedia is looking to acquire Thom Beers' Los Angles
based production studio, Original Productions. The studio
is known for shows like Ice Road Truckers and Ax
Men.
Founded
in 1999 by Beers, Original produces real-life high-risk shows
such as Deadliest Catch.
The
deal would expand Beers' existing business relationship with
Fremantle. In August, both had signed a distribution deal
wherein Fremantle got distribution rights to several Original
series likeVerminators, America's Port, LA, Hard Hats,
1,000 Ways to Die and Black Gold.
As
reported by the Hollywood Reporter, financial terms for a
potential Fremantle/Original deal are unclear, but observers
value it at less than $100 million.
